Dr Ainsley Goff graduated in Medicine at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health in October 2020. Ainsley joined Central Sydney Cardiology (CSC) via our Graduate Entry program as an Administrative Assistant. Ainsley is a wonderful example of what the innovative and inclusive culture at CSC can lead to. At CSC we believe in helping our team reach their full potential.
Ainsley developed an interest in Public Health during her time with us and enrolled for a Masters of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Sydney co-supervised by Professors Anushka Patel and Ian Wilcox. Her research project focused on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a syndrome which affects young women in the prime of their early lives and adversely affects their education, personal and professional lives.
This early research has morphed into a state-wide clinical program across the disciplines of Cardiology (Professor Ian Wilcox and Dr Elizabeth Robertson), Neurology (Dr Judy Spies) and Rheumatology (Professor Neil McGill) at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Sydney Local Health District and collaborates with the Heart Research Institute (Professor John O’Sullivan), the School of Anatomy (Associate Professor Sean Lal) and the Department of Pathology (Dr Elizabeth Robertson) at the University of Sydney.
Ainsley is now a Basic Physician Trainee based at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. What a wonderful journey so far, and one that will no doubt be part of a great career in Medicine!
