Interventional & Structural Cardiology

Interventional cardiology is a subspecialty focused on diagnosing and treating heart disease using catheter-based techniques. Rather than open-heart surgery, interventional cardiologists use thin, flexible tubes (catheters) inserted through blood vessels to investigate and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.

At Central Sydney Cardiology, our interventional cardiologists perform invasive cardiac diagnostics (advanced assessment of coronary arteries and heart function), coronary interventions (treating blocked heart arteries), and structural heart interventions (repairing or replacing heart valves and closing holes in the heart without open surgery).
