Profile

Dr Elizabeth Robertson
- Cardiologist (VMO), Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
- Cardiologist, Strathfield Private Hospital
- Research Fellow, Sydney Marfan and Aortic Disease Clinic
- Clinical Senior Lecturer, University of Sydney
Dr Elizabeth Robertson graduated medicine with honours from the University of Sydney, following completion of an honours degree in biomedical science at the University of Newcastle (Aus). Dr Robertson subsequently completed post-graduate specialist training in Cardiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2013.
Dr Robertson has completed a PhD in medicine at the University of Sydney that was supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarship. The work explored the cardiovascular phenotype heterogeneity in Marfan syndrome.
Dr Robertson has an ongoing research interest in the role of epigenetic influences on cardiovascular disease, in particular genetically triggered aortic aneurysms and inherited disorders of lipid metabolism. She is a sub-investigator on several multinational clinical trials exploring novel treatments for lipid lowering therapies, including lipoprotein (a), and has an interest in the role of diet and lifestyle in preventative cardiology.
In addition to general cardiology, Dr Robertson’s clinical interests include seeing patients and their families with genetically triggered aortic disease and disorders of lipid metabolism, in particular Familial Hypercholesterolaemia.
Dr Robertson is a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Sydney and is involved in teaching medical students and the supervision of both clinical and basic science research students.
